Just put in a bigger light bulb already

Electrical Tip of the Day:  Be mindful of using “oversized” light bulbs in light fixtures.  The wattage ratings on fixtures and lamps are there for a good reason: putting that 100 watt lamp in the bathroom vanity light that was only designed for a 60 watt can cause a fire – and upon occasion does.  This is doubly true for fixtures mounted to the ceiling or wall that are of a “closed lamp” design.
