Where We Came From

Chris Voglund is the owner of Artisan Electric. Artisan Electric was founded in 2004 by Chris and his wife, Michelle, after 10 years of previous electrical and contracting experience. Chris is a 1991 graduate of West Lafayette High School. He then attended 2 years at Purdue University in the school of Industrial Supervision.  He graduated from a 4 year electrical apprenticeship program with the ABC of Indiana with an associate’s degree from Vincennes University in 2002. Later that year Chis took and passed the Experior (now Prometric) Journeyman Electrician’s advanced exam with an 84% on his first attempt.

Chris is a specialist in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical contracting as well as voice, data, audio, and technology solutions. Chris is a degreed Journeyman Electrician, Leviton Network Systems certified installer, holds over 20 technical certificates and specialty training credentials. He has a broad background in electrical trades, project management, design, live audio, sound reinforcement, and audio recording. Chris is a Contacta certified hearing loop trained installer and a certified PV solar installer.

Chris resides in West Lafayette Indiana with his wife, Michelle, their 14 year old daughter, Rosemary, and three-year-old identical twins, Iris and Meadow. He and his wife have been lifetime active participants in the community and are involved in many local organizations and festivals as volunteers and coordinators. Including 25+ years at the Feast of the Hunters Moon where they currently run the Children’s Historic Games booth. Chris is a member, or supporting member, of the ACLU, Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF), Greater Lafayette Commerce, WBAA – NPR, Niches Land Trust, and Battle Ground Masonic Lodge #313.
